WHY WE’RE DIFFERENT

Accessible

No prior training in human physiotherapy is required to apply for our Level 6 equivalent diploma in animal physiotherapy. For level 4 and 5 equivalent courses, passion, commitment and practical work experience with equines/canines is the priority.

Flexible

Learn at your own pace, accessing course content through our dedicated
virtual learning environment (VLE). With a published schedule of practical training days, you can plan your hands-on learning to suit your personal study programme.

Our Level 6 equivalent Diploma in Animal Physiotherapy is fully flexible, taking around three years to complete. Study is at the students’ own pace with full support. The Diploma can be studied around full-time employment.

Practical training days are scheduled around the UK, giving you the flexibility to book where and when you want.

For overseas students, there are a number of ways to book your practical training:

• Source a local animal physiotherapy centre
• Travel to the UK and attend a TCAP international training week
• Connect with a TCAP graduate or trainer in your own country

Please note: For students attending practical training outside of the UK we offer an international study pathway. This is distinct from our UK Rural Skills accredited level 4, 5 and 6 equivalent courses.

Supportive

We pride ourselves on the friendship and support that we give to each student. We care about each student, and we care about making them the best animal physiotherapist we can. For us that means support and friendship. If you choose to train with us, you will always have access to help and advice when it is needed. Throughout the course we provide comprehensive feedback, personal to you. We also provide networking opportunities with fellow students so that you can support each other. As we genuinely care about your success, we also support you once you have qualified. We are always on hand to support you in your career and help you in any way we can. We are still friends with many students we trained years ago.

Confidence building

TCAP practical days are a great way to apply your learning and get ‘hands-on’. Tuition is provided by TCAP trainers with many years’ experience, and supportive small group sessions provide a safe space to learn. We want you to enter professional practice with confidence.

Accredited

Our courses are accredited by UK Rural Skills. Designed to raise the standard of knowledge and skill and the credibility of practitioners in the animal massage field, our courses in equine and canine massage and rehabilitation align with Ofqual Level Descriptors for Level 4 and Level 5 respectively. Our flagship Diploma in Animal Physiotherapy is aligned to Ofqual Level Descriptors for Level 6.

Heritage

Animal physiotherapy has been our focus for over 30 years and a significant proportion of animal/veterinary physiotherapists in the UK (non-human based) have trained with us. Our courses are a proven vocational route to professional practice.

TCAP alumni work in veterinary centres, rehabilitation centres, colleges, and even in large organisations such as Harrods! Many graduates enter the world of self-employment, working with top competition and team horses.
